New Year's Resolutions

woman with heart

Congratulations, you've made it through the holidays and made yourself some New Year resolutions. Resolutions are tricky aren't they? I mean, you get all excited, pondering what is most important to you and envisioning the perfect you. You then articulate that to yourself and even the outside world, if you're really bold.

But then, reality sets in. Keeping resolutions is much harder than making them. And let's face facts, if it was easy to do these things then you would have been doing them already. The reason these things fall by the wayside is that they are too much work.

The top ten resolutions people make are:

  1. Lose weight / Healthier eating
  2. Life / Self improvements
  3. Better financial decisions
  4. Quit smoking
  5. Do more exciting things
  6. Spend more time with family / close friends
  7. Work out more often
  8. Learn something new on my own
  9. Do more good deeds for others
  10. Find the love of my life

Losing Weight

Losing weight is actually easy. Did you know that every moment you are NOT eating, your body is burning up your reserves and you are losing weight? It might be small, actually it most definitely is small, but you are losing some nonetheless. What's actually difficult is the second part, which is eating healthy. Because all the miniscule weight lost in between meals is more than compensated for by eating potato chips, french fries or that occasional two dozen donuts. Any one of those will add back all the weight you lost and then some. Losing weight is easy, it's keeping it off that's the challenge.

Self Improvement

One way to improve youself is by reading and if you're reading this lame blog entry right now then you can check this one off your list. Bam, just like that you kept your resolution! Good job! Now go have a dozen celebratory donuts.

Better Financial Decisions

I'm told money is the root of all evil, so your goal should be to rid yourself of as much money as possible. But before you start throwing benjamins in the garbage or spending them on useless things like food (c'mon weight gain) or shelter, since that is not even on your resolution list, you should see if you can do something extra to boost your do good karma score. Did you know that products that manufacturers don't sell are thrown away to the landfill? Now what if you could both get rid of your money and keep the most products out of the landfill? Wouldn't that be awesome? Well you can, if you maximize what you can buy using frugalprice.com.

So here's a thought. Now stay with me here cause it might get a bit tricky.

  1. You need to get rid of that evil money.
  2. Unsold products are dumped in landfills by manufacturers.
  3. Frugalprice.com helps you buy more products for less.
  4. You kill two birds with one stone: get rid of evil money and keep more products out of the landfill.

Wow, you did a great job there! Reward yourself with two dozen celebratory donuts.

Quit Smoking

Okay now I would start helping you with the next resolution, but I need a smoke break. Since I'm not a smoker, I'll have to go out and get some. I'll be right back ...
